Current No. 9 of 31 · the second half of life
The Capable Guardian
Strong in Talents: trusting what I have learned and can do
Growing in Release: letting go of what I cannot control

You can carry every grocery bag in from the car in one trip, and you have done it so long that no one comes out to help anymore. That strength is real: you carry the load, solve the problem and keep the people you love safe.
You will recognize this
It shows up at the car, at the stairs, at the ladder you climb because you will not wait. It shows up on the phone, when a grown child offers to come over and you say there is no need. You are not proud, exactly. You just know you can.
When something goes wrong, people want you in the room. You see what needs doing and you do it, without freezing and without fuss. Your judgment has been tested, and it has held.
This season
Being capable was the job: parent, provider, the one who handles things. Now the body has opinions about heavy bags, and the people you raised, or the people around you, are capable adults who may want to help. This may be the season when the people you raised get to give something back.
