Current No. 23 of 31 · the second half of life
The Light Hand
Strong in Release: letting go of what I cannot control
Growing in Mark: passing something on to others

Seeds forgotten in an old barn-coat pocket stay seeds, however good, until someone kneels and plants them. You hold life loosely and kindly, and you let others be who they are.
You will recognize this
At family dinners you listen more than you speak. A grandchild faces a problem you have solved a dozen times, and you wait for them to figure it out. In the garden or the garage you know a hundred small things nobody has ever asked you about.
You don't tell anybody how to live. The grown people in your life run their own lives, and you let them. When something goes a way you would not have chosen, you shrug, and the shrug is real. A light hand can give in a way a tight one never can.
This season
For decades you let others find their way, and that freedom shaped your family well. Now the young ones in your life are growing, the world is changing fast, and some of what you know is becoming rare: how to fix, how to wait, how to forgive, how to make do.
