The Ready Hands
Strong in Ease: being at home in my body and my days
Growing in Mark: passing something on to others

A full rain barrel is a fine thing to have, and the garden stays dry until somebody carries a bucket to it. You have rest and strength to spare, the very things most givers run short of.
You will recognize this
By nine in the morning the yard is done, and the day stretches ahead. There are long walks, extra trips, help offered to whoever happens to call. In the evening you are pleasantly tired, and you could not say whom you helped, only that you were busy.
You sleep through the night and wake ready, the yard done by nine, already in the truck when a neighbor needs a ride. Ask how you are, and you say, “Pretty good, actually,” and mean it. That strength could carry something a long way, for years rather than a season.
This season
For years you gave because you had to: a family, a job, aging parents. Now the obligations have eased, and your health is good. Not everyone has the wish to help and the strength and the time, all three. You do. This season lets you choose whom to help, and to keep giving for years.
