Current No. 28 of 31 · the second half of life

The Explorer

Strong in Ahead: leaning toward what comes next
Growing in Mark: passing something on to others

You keep mailing postcards home from the road, and somebody there would trade the whole stack for a seat in the car. You keep going out to meet the world, and you bring back stories.

You will recognize this

The postcards, the photos, the cheerful updates keep coming. You plan the next trip alone, out of habit. At family gatherings you tell the funny stories and skip what the road taught you. You are not keeping anyone out. You just never thought to ask them in.

You are doing, in the second half, what nobody expected: the move, the class, the second career, the instrument taken up at seventy. You report from the road briefly and cheerfully, and keep going. You are living proof that the later years can be a beginning.

This season

For decades, adventure had to wait: the job, the mortgage, the children. Now you are finally out there. The people back home, especially the young ones, may be watching more than you know. This season lets you show them, in person, what a full second half can look like.
