The Untapped Teacher

Strong in Talents: trusting what I have learned and can do
Growing in Mark: passing something on to others

A root cellar full of good potatoes feeds no one through the winter if nobody else knows where the door is. Yours is full: hard-won skill and good sense, the kind others could use.

You will recognize this

You do the thing yourself because it is faster than explaining. You work alone in the garage on a Saturday. Someone younger struggles, and you watch and say nothing, because you do not want to intrude. Your restraint is kind. It is also a door left shut.

You can fix the thing, calm the room, read the contract, get the bread to rise. You learned it slowly, much of it the hard way. And there is grace in a restraint that has never forced a lesson on anyone.

This season

For years the skills were busy: on the job, at home, in the community. Now they sit in the cellar. They do not spoil, but they do go unused. Teaching does not need a classroom. It needs one person and an afternoon.
